HAte to say it to the author of that article, but he just described a lot of people who simply MAKE for themselves a lot of BAD CHOICES.
1. Renting is ALWAYS more expensive than OWNING. WHY? Because the one who OWNS something and rents it out, ALWAYS rents it for far more than it costs him/her. Secondly, the mortgage payment for a house can be spread over thirty years to bring down monthly payments.
2. Find some less expensive neighborhoods or towns to live in. If you choose to live in high rent areas whose fault is it?
3. FOOD??? Really? Choices are tough aren;t they? Whether to pay for that mega buck cell phone, drone, toys, or buy food.... Hmmmm. Let's just say decision making is not at an all time high among a certain sector of people who believe they are entitled to have EVERY NEW GADGET and THING available to them and then cry about the budget they just blew...
4. BE SATISFIED with the THINGS you can afford but start with the BASICS first..... Buy a SMALL HOME. BUY food first and do not buy things that you do not NEED. Get a 2nd part time job if needed, Heck, I worked THREE JOBS for awhile... Didn't like it but I paid mybills and kept my wife taken care of...
THIS moron who wrote this article needs to grow up....
period....
