I thought the original article said the weapons was
AK-47's . . . Which ARE assault type rifles.

But, looking at this picture . . the one on the far
left looks more like one of those 'assault shotguns'
while the one next to him has what looks like an AK-47.

The one on the right . . . unless I'm missing something
that looks like a grenade launcher under the barrel.

Any other guesses as to what those weapons are?
