...just don't mulch the grass. It will cause "thatch" and kill the grass.

Being NEW to the riding lawn tractor game, I noticed the excess of MAPLE leaves building up in the yard so thought I would go mow over them. Well, that worked so-so but all it did was cut the leaves and blow them out the side discharge chute.

THEN

I did a little research and found out I could buy a MULCING KIT for my Cub Cadet, which I did yesterday late morning.

I spent half an hour changing th eblades out and installing the PLUG for the hole in the side of the deck where everything normally gets discharged....

NOW it is a mulcher so I put it through some testing.
The entire yard.

It actually works pretty well. NOT as finely ground as my HONDA mulcher or my TORO Super Recycler self-propelled walk behind mowers, but well enough. Did better than without the mulching kit..

Mrs. Micro gave it the seal of approval.... So I discovered that indeed these lawn tractors can be turned into mulching mowers, which is short for LAWN FERTILIZIZER that is FREE......... The grass will be fed nutrients this winter as the clippings decay from the leaves....

pretty nifty... I am beginning to like this riding lawn tractor thingy......
