You're right. The 5-year survival rate for basal cell carcinoma is 100%. I'd say that it's cured.
Most cancers have excellent survival rates - provided that they are caught BEFORE they've spread all over the body. Breast cancer, for instance, is almost always cured these days since it's usually detected while it's still in the breast.
But AFTER cancer has spread all over the body? That's another story. You're pretty much a dead man walking once cancer has gotten its ugly little fingers into everything.
I know a woman who had to tear the whole second floor of her house off because, short of that, pest companies said that there was no way to get rid of the hoards of ANTS. So, tell me: If today's technology can't even get ants out of a house, why on earth would you assume that doctors can get something a thousand times smaller out of your body??
