...then there's that old pesky Constitution again.


The Eighth Amendment in the Bill of Rights gives people a right to reasonable bail. This is an important right. It allows an accused person to be released while they handle their legal affairs. The bail itself is a surety bond or sum of money that is posted to insure the accused person will show up for their court date.
