The plural forms of the personal pronoun 'it' are
they
as the subject of a sentence or a clause, and
them
as the object of a verb or a preposition.
Examples:
A horse stood in the field. It
looked at us as we waved to it. (singular)
The horses stood in a field. They
looked at us as we waved to them
...but what if the horses is self identifying as cows that day??? How about "Hey Assholes!". Everybody got one and they are not gender specific.
