When Texas Instruments had a plant in El Salvador ... many, many moons ago! ... a friend who worked there used to carry an Uzi in his car. It was not unheard of to be driving, turn a corner, and find yourself in the middle of a riot ... with machetes flying about. But, that's where the Uzi came in handy ... he would roll down the window far enough to poke the end of the barrel out and squeeze off a burst into the air. He said it always worked like a charm ... parting the red sea ... and allow him to drive on in peace.
