Re: “IF you don;t like attracting BUGS in yer bedroom, git you something else in the house that will attract them like a bug zapper or something that emits light , maybe a blue or purple glow..”

That's a great idea! Of course, we have a lot of bugs at various times. Right now, the mosquito population seems to be peaking. The crackling of the bug zapper might just keep us up!

I've been places that had more mosquitoes but, I'll tell you, I don't remember being in a place that had more MOTHS. We left our front porch light on one afternoon, and when we returned late the front door must have had a thousand moths covering it.

Most years, we have tons off hornets too - all kinds. Paper wasps, black hornets, yellow jackets, etc. It used to be common when I arrived here in the summer to find five or six wasp nests being built on the house and deck. Not so much this year, though, which is fine by me.

In the spring, we have black flies. I've got a creek on one of the property boundaries and the flies like running water. Black flies are like fleas with wings. If you spend an hour outdoors, you might find that you have thirty bites on your arms, bites that itch like crazy for the next three weeks.

I'd take all of them before the @#%$!ing TICKS. My big hope for next year is that because I've kept the field mowed all of this year, *maybe* the ticks will go away. That's not the way to bet, though.

Hi De.

You obviously have some adjusting to do with your inner cycle. It is still on the same time it was when you were working.

My inner clock is still pretty much the same. Also, my body only needs 7 hours of sleep, and yet, I find it very difficult to stay up later than 10:00 a.m. So Miz micro and I are up around 5:00 - 5:30 a.m. every day..

No alarms needed. Funny how that internal bio-rythm works. Eventually you likely will liken re-set your internal clock but it will be gradual.. Hang in there.

IF you don;t like attracting BUGS in yer bedroom, git you something else in the house that will attract them like a bug zapper or something that emits light , maybe a blue or purple glow.. Different room so you can't see it.

You have window A/C units? Hmmmm. Not only can yer little friends come around openings around sides but many time directly thru the unit itself.

DUCT TAPE will take care of the side openings or you could stuff them with some sponge like foam so you can remove it later when ya takes them out.

Losing your parent is hard but should always be expected. It hurts. But it is God's plan for graduating from this world into a far better one.

I still have to take care of my father. He is in a home around the block from my house. I am leaving in a couple minutes to go take him a coffee as he will not walk up the hallway to the dining hall to get it himself.
He could. He just won't. Memory issue.

Just like daily I have to take him lunch to eat and at 5:00 is go over and walk him to the dining room where the meals are brought to the residents.. This is Independent living area.

Sometime in the very near future this will have to change to ASSISTED living. I cannot keep this up every day...

Until then, I want him to be happy (as can be at 90) and he has the GRUMPY kind of dementia. Did I mention that I am the child that he always has disliked.... Funny how things in the end often turn out..

I would see about attracting skeeters to another light away from the bedroom. If that happens to kill them even better. Meanwhile you have some GAP filling to do....

I hear ya.. THIS will get better but it will take time. Yer spouse is adjusting more quickly than you....

Best of luck with your new home and wonderful setting there in NH. Beautiful.
