Re: “so the owner removes 3/4, 75% of the Diamond plated STEEL and replaces it with wood?”

I'm sure happy you noticed that. I hadn't.

You're referring to the cross pieces, right? That could be trouble. The longer pieces are commonly wood. I've seen that before.

I've already made an appt for 1PM and am still going to keep it. If nothing else, I want to have a frame of reference to compare against whatever trailer I eventually buy. And if it looks like this trailer is designed to be the way it is, then I might still buy it.

I'm going to hunt for some other trailer pictures to see if any of them are built the same way with wooden cross pieces.

If I don't buy this one - and that now seems likely - it will be for the reason you named. Thank you!

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

so the owner removes 3/4, 75% of the Diamond plated STEEL and replaces it with wood?

Yep, sounds like a great idea..... ???????

There was a reason that trailer was DESIGNED the way it was with the steel plate that just happened to be diamond plate. I am not a fan of diamond plate, being in the steel manufacturing INDUSTRY for over 35 years. There are better options. But removing all that and using wood planks??

Let's see. The structural strength of real galvanized steel that should be powder coated with PRIMER after it was installed and then top coated with a Polyester gloss black would have kept corrosion away for a long time and this would have been heavier, but a lot more safe and structurally sound....

I don't know if I am missing something or not but that kind of bothers me....
