I obviously do not know the full background of this story ... I suspect very, very few actually do ... but, I find it difficult to understand why anyone should be held responsible for the abusive actions of another, who they supervise at work, that do not occur under the purview of said supervisor. To my knowledge, the alleged abusive behavior happened at home; Meyer was NOT personally involved in ANY of the incidents; Meyer did NOT have direct knowledge (i.e., witness it, firsthand) of the alleged abusive behavior; and Meyer may have only heard rumor of it via his wife.
Since when is an employer or a co-worker legally liable to be the relationship police who supposedly enforce domestic tranquility in the private households of everyone else in the workplace, eh?!
