< cvheck all connections and yes, Moisture can do weird things with electric. Sounds like you have some gremlins. That last van I sold to that crazy lady i worked for it had the same prob, I didnt know cause i drove it everyday. It was the electric door locks on the drivers door was shorted out, always pulling power. Those are the worst probs to find.

Re: “And with your truck what are the probs? Has it thrown any codes?? If so give them to me and i will help see if we can figure it out.........”

No, no codes. Just a lot of pesky problems that are hard to diagnose.

The radio speakers have died. When the weather is warm and dry, they sometimes return to life for a period. The problem began with the driver door speaker but happened to the passenger door speaker a year or so later. At this point, the radio only works most of the time through the small dashboard speaker and sounds like crap.

Next, the driver side control to close the passenger side window died. It can usually lower the window but only rarely raise it. Fortunately, the passenger side control works or the window would be forever down.

My suspicion is that water gets into the doors and has corroded the speaker wires and the window controls.

The power steering rack is leaking badly. I'll be paying a bundle on Wednesday to have it repaired.

The truck's air bag light has come on indicating that it needs work. Fortunately, the air bags are not part of the safety inspection so I don't have to have this done. It probably won't be cheap.

The biggest problem is that the battery doesn't stay charged. If I drive without using headlights and the weather isn't too cold, I can go months without a problem. But if I use the headlights for long OR there is a serious cold spell, I can be pretty sure that the truck won't start the next morning.

This has been the case over the last few batteries, so the batteries themselves are NOT the problem. One shop did an electrical check on the truck and said the alternator is working fine. My suspicion is that the alternator is producing 101% of the electricity that the battery needs to stay charged, but if I'm driving with the lights on, it only produces 80% of the electricity needed.

My other suspicion is that the corrosion in the doors has created a short and the battery is being drained slowly 24 hours a day.
