...feed him for a few days and he will hang around.

...I had a dog named SAM. He looked like a haystack. Golden hair kinda bristely and pointing in all directions. When we got him home I fed him and let him out to use the potty. He stayed gone for ages. We would see him roaming about the neighborhood from time to time but would not respond to any kind of call. Once in awhile there would be a litter of pups show up with bristely hair pointing in all directions and we would know that SAM had struck again.

...another time I had a dog named HAPPY. He was scared to death of all human beings when we got him. He had been abused. If ya spoke to him he would rung get under something. If ya picked him up he would wet himself and you. It took months of patient loving attention to get him to where he trusted us and wasn't afraid. By the time we had him a year he would climb up in my lap or sit by my side when I watched the idiot box.

...then we had a great Dane who was humongous. We called him DooDoo. If ya ever cleaned up after him ya would know why. DooDoo could stand on his back feet, put his front feet on my shoulders and look down on me. DooDoo was afraid of Happy.

...Had a lot of dogs in my life and I wish I was as good at being a person as they were at being dogs.
