The more defenseless victims are killed by lawless thugs ... the more entitled and brazen the lawless thugs become about taking whatever they want at the point of a gun ... and this continuing violence escalates into yet even more violence.
The more the pool of lawless thugs is culled by lawfully armed citizens ... the less bold the thugs become as their numbers dwindle and they see, firsthand, that their lawless actions reap dire, very personal consequences ... and as the violence declines, so does the need for lawfully armed citizens to meet violence with defensive violence.
