Basic info 101 for you.

ALL I ever buy is unlocked smart phones when I get one or recommend one for my family members and siblings.

THINGS YOU need to know..
TYPE of CARRIER frequency.
There are two types of signals. GSM and CDMA

CDMA is Verizon and Sprint while GSM is ATT, T-Mobile, COnsumer cellular (who is my carrier and they use ATT towers).

SO, you need to decide which type os cell signal you want to be able to use.

I get my phones from BHPHOTO.com They have lots to choose from and pricing is good. I have bought three from them and never been disappointed. Reputable and great service.

The SIM CARD should be provided by your carrier and with Consumer cellular it is FREE. I like them a lot and have been very happy with pricing and reliability. Service is second to none. You can call them and ask tech questions and they will walk you through and are very nice.

My wife uses a MOTO smartphone. I use an LG G3 and they are plenty for what I use them for. I added a 64 GB sim card to the phone for storage of pictures so I do not use up the storage on the phone.

Samsung Galaxies are good phones also. BUT for $199.00 those MOTO phones are hard to beat.

This is an LG SMARTPHONE a few generations newer than mine. It only works on GSM carriers, which are 90 percent of all signals in the world.
