FWIW - find an UNLIMITED plan from a carrier that has good cell service at your residence. T-Mobile has a 55+ plan that is reportedly only $70 a month - taxes included - for two lines of service. Find the best UNLIMITED plan with coverage for your house.

THEN - download the PdaNet app http://pdanet.co/a/ and buy the full version for $7.95. You also need to load the PdaNet on your laptop so do this where you have internet service. Once you have this installed you can tether your cell phone to your laptop using your USB charging cord and use your cell phone's UNLIMITED data plan for your internet access.

Disclosure: I am a former B2B cell Phone rep and did this for years till the Ms decided she wanted full net for the house. I also received many threatening letters from my carrier even tho I had an UNLIMITED plan due to me using 30G+ data per month on my "cell phone" :-)
