IN lots of liberal colleges I would agree 100 percent. I interviewed thousands of people in my lifetime. MANY were supposed to be educated. They could not even spell rudimentary words we learned in sixth grade. Dumber than bricks.

This is exactly why anyone who was a serious student in high school in the 80's and earlier has a better education than MOST morons who granulate with a diploma from college.
There are SOME exceptions but not a lot.

Hillsdale college for example is rooted in the ABC's of education. A smaller university it is distinctly conservative in its values and believes in academics and does not teach BS 101 and sandbox 202 for the masses.

You will either sink or swim there.

I am confident there are other places similar to this.
Cedarville University is another such place. Located in the small town of Cedarville, Ohio I remember when this started out as a very small Christian COllege dedicated to higher learning and training young men who felt the Call to be PAstors. They also taught some other major studies for teachers as well and eventually over years have grown tremendously. They are a first rate place of learning. I know this personally and have spoken woith many of the faculty their and am friends with several of them. NO DUMMIES are graduating from there.

THOSE are the exceptions to the majority rule. Kids are being taught high school math in college and still cannot pass it easily. English? WHat's that? Grammar?

CIVICS? Perish the thought. HOw about real courses that require the brain to logically think? NAH. TOO HARD..

Heck, as I said earlier, two thirds of dipsticks I interviewed could not even spell correctly and they all though I owed them a living...

Needless to say they were not employed. At least by me.

College today is a waste of time for MOST. Not all.

SO these are my two cents worth. Yours may vary and that is okay. So glad my life is almost behind me and I do not need to fret about things like that anymore...

I have always wanted to open up a legitimate GARAGE where people could TRUST you to do right and not screw them over. I think with an honest reputation one could have more work and business than they could handle.....

Thoughts?

From Reason: A new book makes the case against education. Who would argue against education? Economics professor Bryan Caplan. He tells John Stossel that “what we need to do is to go … Read more
