P.S. I suspect Trumps main thrust, for now at least,
was to inform Mexico that they do have responsibilities
in these matters . . . and if they fail to man up and
act responsibly there will be painful consequences.
Right now it appears that the 'invasion force' is
not armed or particularly dangerous. Just a bunch
of illegal would be immigrants planning a mass
'invasion' . . .
But, if this group appears to be armed I think it is a
safe bet that Trump will either reinforce them with
troops that are armed - or, more likely, have the
National Guardsmen arm up.
From what I saw on the news today, the intent is to
have the Guardsmen provide support functions to free
up more border patrol agents. Support to include
logistical support - as in helicopters or trucks and
buses as well as dog care, food, etc. etc.
