The really big difference between Trump and successful dictator types is that they have usually been somewhat competent.

It's his incompetence which will save America from him.

Of course, his incompetence is doing damage, so his presidency is not without cost. But perhaps the demonstration of the cost of his incompetence will cause Americans in those few swing states which went nuts to vote more sensibly in future.

Don't be Russian. Or you will end up with President Dunce.

I think you may be right about the dictator thingammyjig!

My hope is that McConnell and Ryan, while not publically declaring their opposition to Trump's dictatorial tendencies, privately have let him know he is toast if he messes with Mueller.

It explains Trump's lack of movement on Mueller, in spite of his desperation.

In which case, he is their useful idiot, as they try to score points for the wingnuts.
