It does sound like that, but it's not. If I go to their personal page, I can see everything they've posted and engage with them and their friends. I can post new public messages there too. But in Facebook's "Home" page, new messages from some of my friends aren't being displayed. I don't automatically see their discussions the way I used to and have to seek them out.

Facebook's latest algorithm is effectively separating people using some strategy that only Facebook knows. My wife says that people she knows are complaining about the same thing.
