Sire
That is all the higher I take ANY of my clubs back. One can generate a lot of clubhead speed from the shoulder height level through the ball at impact.
For example, I normally drive the ball about 250 years on average. That is not overswinging. It is swinging in rhythm. IF I try to give it a little more, then I rotate a little farther but not HIGHER. I have hit some tee shots over 300 yards. Nothing like the sound of a ball when you hit the sweet spot and you are in rhythm and sync. It just feels perfect...
My normal 7 iron is between 185 - 195 yards these days. It was 200 yards plus or minus 5 when I was 5 years younger...
I hit my 5 iron 225 yards so I do not carry a 3 wood. My 9 is about 150 and my pitching wedge 130 - 135.
I am looking forward to playing again but only after a little bit of practice swings at a range....
Do not like embarrassing myself off the 1st tee in front of a group waiting behind mine.....
YOU HAVE MADE and excellent point and a GREAT GOLF TIP ... Some day we should play.....
