It's 5 degrees here at my house......
A tad chilly. I am adopting a wait and see approach on pinched sciatic nerve. Am going to try to calm it down with a couple of cortisone direct injections requiring imaging to place the needle directly onto the nerve and the impingement point.
First one on the 9th of January. Second one a week later.
IF this works, it may give me relief enough to get through without surgery. If it does not, then its off to surgeon.
I am hoping it works so I can keep working with my new clients I developed up north over the past few months.
Need to get up there early in January. Been asked to be there by a couple of them already.
I could write a new sequel to another book.
Something about "Inconvenient"....... At least mine would really be inconvenient. The other previous one is just a flat out LIE.... Nothing inconvenient about it.
In the meantime, I got me a couple of good hard OAK sticks to bite on. No pain meds.
I wasn't going to pony up $500.00 to take some drug test for the privilege of being written a prescription for pain meds. I would rather just suffer, bite on something and pretend I am back in country.
I'll save the cash for more important things.

Was wondering if you gave any thought to maybe opening up any interior walls of that house plan so you could have a little more open space, say between living room and kitchen/and or dining area?
Point 2. Consider at some point an elevator between your living level and basement as those older years come around. You will be surprised when you gets closer to 70 how the body does not like to cooperate and things go south.... That little plan ahead and then implementing will make life a lot easier on you and yours as you get older....
3. USE SLOW EXPANDING insulating foam in between walls.
That will block all cold air from coming inside and warm air escaping..... The high insulating value it adds is amazing. Also eliminates drafts.... Something to think about...
Other than that, like the plans..... As you will be living in a cold climate you want to retain as much heat as possible.
