I have always found this to be the case among management level employees in some companies I started out my career.
I always thought about the hypocrisy then. Healthcare practitioners (professional is a subjective word to me), are no different in my eyes.
It is all about DRIVE and motivation. DO you care enough about what you do to suck it up and unless you are dying or cannot breathe, show up and do the best you can. Others are relying on and depending on YOU to be there. (not you per say)
This has been going on for a long time in my world and I suspect it is only going to increase with the rise of the snowflakes.
Just my opinion of course from decades of observation.
Maybe this also another personal reason why I do not hold "doctors" in high esteem or reverent awe either.
They are nothing more than a human body engineer, where some things are established, proven, factual, and many more are guesswork.
Like engineers, there are good ones, great ones, and bad one. When you find a good or great one, stick with them because they are rare indeed.
