It's not as if deporting them is easy. It's godawful expensive... I think I was reading $25,000 for a single deportation, but it might have been more than that. And a lot of these guys refuse to say where they're from, so it's not always easy to get Mexico to agree to take them.
And there isn't anything stopping them from returning over and over. This isn't just conjecture. We've seen that happening.
We need to treat them like the criminals they are. Prison is appropriate. But it shouldn't be a free ride, and the illegals should be made to pay a heavy price while they're there. Make them work. Give them little more than oatmeal, horse or dog meat, cabbage, lemons and water. Make sure they regret the day they set foot in the United States.
