Ribit
That is hysterically funny.
But true for many weekend golfers.
I am a solid 14 handicap. I play six to 10 times a season.
I drive about 260 yards off the tee and it is usually in or next to the fairway. My short irons are pretty good. Accurate. But, I also hit them the same distances the pros do. I am using a 7 iron at 200 yards. A 6 is too much club. My sand wedge is 120 yards and a full pitching wedge is 150.
I hit a 5 iron around 240 yards.
So I have always been blessed with good contact and distance. I simply don;t play enough to improve anymore and I have never taken a lesson.
Best thing I did do was get some decent equipment.
It MADE a huge difference. Confidence is a lot of it.
I play Calloway Irons and Driver. I use a graphite stiff shaft on the driver. The irons are "X-20" cavity backs.
I play Titleist NXT tour balls or Srixon Tri-Speed three piece balls. They have great feel and seem to jump off the driver face. I really like them. I have tried more expensive balls but did not like the feel of them.
The slight inside out swing is actually the best one to have so you are doing great!
That is what my shoulder surgeries forced me to do and it helped get rid of the slice and made me a straight and long driver of the ball. My longest drive was a measured 325 yards. I got ALL of it perfectly on a tee shot that I did not hold anything back. I caught it LUCKILY dead square and it was a sight to behold.
Took off low and about 50 yards out it just took off like a jet going up. Nice apex trajectory.
Now my arthritic spine gives me problems so have trouble playing LOOSE and have to really be careful..
So I think my days of golfing are gong to be limited.
One day maybe we can all meet up for a little golf outing when you get all healed up and feel like it.
That would be fun....
We could do this somewhere in Tennessee. Where does 4- 5 hours put you at in Tennessee? Around Knoxville???
Maybe some other golfers could join us.....
Just a thought.....
Keep on recovering bro!
My best
micro....
