If I did all of my math and counting correctly, March 21st will be my last day of work. Then I take annual leave until it runs out, which should give me an official retirement date of May 30th.
On March 22nd, my wife and I will drive our vehicles to New Hampshire, get our NH drivers licenses, and leave her minivan parked up there in our driveway. We'll return to Virginia the next day in my truck. On April 14th or 15th, we'll drive a U-Haul and my truck north for good.
Those dates can all be futzed around with a bit except for the final drive. Our lease is up on April 15th. There's no getting around that, so our time in Virginia will be at an end.
