I have discovered that many of the 'installation discs' provided by accessory providers contain programs, options and features that no one in their right mind would ever allow on their computer.

Lots of times for drivers one should go directly to the manufacturer's website of the piece of hardware one is looking for a current or updated driver for.

Monitor, printers, mainboard, video cards, motherboard, whatever it may be.

HP had that printer driver available for download. I am glad the system recognized it and took care of it.

MANY drivers of hardware today are already installed on operating systems which often eliminates the need to go find a driver. But when it does get "munged" for whatever reason, I always check on the maker of the device's website for drivers..

Just my experience with replacing drivers... hope this might be of a tiny bit of value in the future...
