I have a Cannon scanner, which is great. If I ever need a printer, I would give Cannon a try, especially after this conversation. I think this printer will out live me, though, I have a few cartridges, which should last forever. Got them on sale for $20. These are big cartridges, usually $100-$125 range. I suspect they don't use that cartridge for newer printers and have discontinued it. I don't print much, either, so I think/hope I'm good for the duration.
