And it was doing it with firefox. I am using Oprea now. They have made some great changes, I like it now.......

I doubt it. My guess (without having spent even a second investigating, so take it for what it's worth) is that you have to be authenticated to the web host in order to see the pictures. If you're authenticated, they display. If you aren't... 404 error.
You may be authenticating automatically through cookies on one of your browsers... so quickly that you aren't even aware of it.
