Yep, those small snakes are quite beneficial to have around the yard. If I am working in the yard and notice them, I will stop and do my best to get them out of harm's way.

Thank-ye, Mr. Wizard.

Those rhymes are worthless to me - never can remember them when looking at a KING Snake.

HOWEVER- I will be able to remember : RED HEADED KING.

And thanks also for straightening out the correct 'other' one designation. KING SNAKE - not a rat snake.

My two favourite snakes are the green garter snake, and the bull snake.
