Stoopid gubmint. jmho. Got to start using common sense and shifting places that shouldn't be where they are to higher ground, letting them go where they want and maybe developing a new city.

the renters insurance would not do you much good due to a flood.

If you live in a flood zone such as Houston, New Orleans, or other coastal areas that are prone to Hurricanes and high waters and you have low laying ground, you need flood insurance. Renters insurance only covers things of your destroyed by fires or stolen. It does not include FLOOD INSURANCE from natural disasters.

Its a shame but that apparently is how it works.....

Insurance companies would go broke providing benefits to all the flood victims who live in flood zones, and know they are going to get flooded.

That is why you have to get it from da gubmint...
