Linda, most of the storm shelters are a
long way from the Golf of Mexico. They
are used in the face of a tornado. BTW,
a friend of mine said he has a relative
down on the Gulf who had few problems.
Their house is on a high spot with
drainage into the Gulf. It was built to
withstand high winds.
dg, I hope they got out of those storm shelters before the flood came! I don;t even know how it would be built, but I would really like to have a storm room that can't be blown down, in case we get the big one. No question a 4 or 5, maybe even a three, would destroy this community.
