Here, they put a light on each lane. Six lane highway, six lights. More if there's turning lanes. It's unbelievable. Gotta spend that our money.

We the people are being taken for a ride. Capital budgets must be spent or they go away. So spend they do. Zero-based budgeting's probably a good approach for government.

...out here in the sticks we are going traffic light crazy. They have replaced every traffic light in my county and all of the state as far as I know. Nothing wrong with the old lights, somebody just thought up a new design which is almost incomprehensible and which makes traffic much worse.
