He should be released - not because he's a good guy, but because he was oversentenced relative to other criminals who committed comparable crimes.
It's not appropriate for a judge to give someone a harsher sentence because he was found 'Not Guilty' of a different crime. But that's pretty clearly what happened.
Now, *I* would have dropped Simpson off in an escapeless cave for his Las Vegas heist, if I was king, and the Nicole Smith/Ron Goldman murders would have had nothing to do with it. But I'm not, and what I just described is a very different subject.
