I was just listening to a Hudson Institute webcast where a woman from the FBI said, regarding a question on foreign ownership of real estate, that it's usually law firms that make the purchases and because of privacy rights, they are unable to ask who bought the property. Pretty hard to root out criminal foreign money . . .
