De,
Your posting is up to nine stars . . so far.
At the least I hope wherever your path takes you you
and yours are happy and well cared for. (Or well able
to care for themselves.) (I think you know what I mean.)

I had the stray thought of volunteering to move up with
you . . . but I honestly do not seem to have skills
you might need and I aspire to be a lazy bum.

GirlFriend would be more useful - she can cook anything
and she is a very hard worker. She can also make
jams etc. etc. But she is also in her late sixties
and she does not want to leave this area.

I'm joking about moving North.
Maybe Oklahoma.

Zim.

re: "It is also obvious that you have made a lot of money"

Not a lot of money, but enough, I guess. My goal for a long time was to ensure that I'd have a problem free rest-of-my-life. Then the goal was to ensure my son would have enough for the rest of HIS life. That plan fell apart once I understood that dollars would lose their value. So now the goal is only to ensure that I have a self-sufficient existence that I can pass to my son one day.

re: "Post WWI Germany suffered a total financial collapse . . . They survived it."

I'm glad you've got a plan - and I hope it goes well for you. I can say the same for myself, of course. I have a plan, and much of it will probably not go the way I'd like. However, it's also going to be a lot of fun, and the adventure is what I'm really looking forward to. The suburban lifestyle is not for me. I don't think I could stand it if more suburbia is all I had to look forward to. I'm TIRED of the routine.... A person only lives once, ya know?
