"Zim, So, the Tomcat was faster."

Much faster and maneuverable, turn on a dime. The F-35 can go further, but is slow as molasses and can't get out of its own way. F-35 is slow boat to china. The cost of stealth.

Interesting stats.

Is the F-14 combat radius correct, given its range was 2050 miles without refueling?

As I recall, the F-14 was a BIG beast with long legs.
(As in it could fly and fight a long ways from the
carrier.)

I kind of wish 'they' had done a redesign, making
it more maintenance friendly, more durable, and a
bit more lethal. Then cranked out a couple thousand
new 'Super Tomcats'.

FA-18
Maximum speed = Mach 1.8+
Loaded weight = 21,320 kg
Combat radius = 449 miles
