Ribit,
F35 Stealth - They're not totally invisible, but its hard to trace the dots to them. Meanwhile, our enemies are busily pursuing new radar systems to detect them.

EMP Anti-aircraft Shell
As far as I know, an Electromagnetic pulse explosion is the result of a nuclear bomb exploding. When we tested nukes in the Pacific, some electronics in Hawaii were impacted (est 2500 miles away). What they have done in the meantime is produce nuclear weapons that improve on the EMP effect of nukes by making the bombs higher energy and lower yield. And instead of dropping them low to destroy more, they shoot them up higher in the atmosphere to broaden their range. This also reduces the radiation from the nuclear explosion.
I can't picture such an anti-aircraft shell, but it's an interesting proposition. Could such a thing be built with a fairly close-proximity effect to use offshore as a missile defense system and not hurt the oceans? I have no idea.
Well, one thing I have discovered from our discussion out here on the F-35 is I don't need to go talk to anyone about design issues like a dogfight capability, because there's a lot of people out there debating it already. I do have to question the logic in making a plane that can't be flown on manual by the pilot and whose machine gun can't work without software in the age of cyber warfare.
