DG:
I wanted vegetables, so I went to the Asian market near my office during lunch today. It's still pretty crowded - lots of asians, muslims and hispanics. I'm okay with that. The vegetables are only 2/3 the price I'd find at Safeway, Giant or Shoppers. Small Sunkist oranges are 3/$1. They'd be 89 cents each at Safeway. And the Asian market has a far larger selection of vegetables and seafood (but that's not what I'm buying) than I'd find at any of the better known stores.
One thing about the Asian market - it's hard to get used to peoples' poor manners. They think nothing of pushing your cart out of their way even if it's on one side of the aisle and all they have to do is walk around it. Others think nothing about totally blocking a narrow aisle with their own cart. And groups will walk down an aisle side by side, making it impossible to pass.
I guess this is how things work wherever they come from. It's surprising since our rules make things easier for everyone.
