Now that's a great point. And back when I had a few bucks to do some trading, I put a small amount in an etrade savings account. Then, the market coughed and etrade had a cash flow problem. Taught me it's not a good idea to put a savings account in a brokerage house, regardless of the great interest rate. Like you say, can't take hostages! ;)
Nowadays, I don't even think about trading, I have two stocks that are long term holds for now.
p. s. I have Comcast and have been having intermittent outages tonight where the 'nets down for a bit, then comes back. Except it didn't seem like it was coming back, so I popped the power cord on the modem and its back. Was yours a power hit? Wonder if Comcast's having cyber problems or even regular TCP/IP network problems, which can spread . . .
