Lowes and Home Depot both have their 'self serve'
checkout lines . . .
I refuse to use them.
I like occasionally joking with the cashiers.
I was buying paint the other day, the gal said
'Have a nice day' . . . I told her it wouldn't be
very nice, I had to paint. She said painting
wasn't that bad. I asked her is she wanted to
help me, she said 'Sure'. I noticed she didn't
follow me out to the truck.
But the exchange was nice.
I'm pretty sure that self serve check out couldn't
at least pretend to help me paint.
McDonald's new strategy replaces cashiers with kiosks in at least 2,500 restaurants by the end of 2017 and another 3,000 over 2018. It will boost revenues, cut costs, and lead to the disappearance of many if not all minimum wage McDonalds workers. Here is the math.
