I so hope that you are correct.

The government(s) believe that technology, which they control on a never before massive scale, really prevents any such effective resistance to the government from ever developing - ubiquitous surveillance and unbounded compute power for analysis and threat detection, plus widespread 'government' weapons that ARE NOT even close to being matched by what are in civilian hands.

Be interesting to see your reply to my immediately previous 'in thread' reply to DE.

I used to believe that the 2nd amendment, properly exercised, to provide a 'last resort' to preventing tyranny. Not so sure any longer.

while that is an interesting speculation , and your guess is as good as anyone else's, I do not believe there is a corporation anywhere that is going to have more power than the government military forces.

If the gubmint wants someone's farmland bad enough, who do you think is gonna stop them? Some corporation?

Are you surmising that the corporations will somehow start their own military?

The military power resides in the government.

The overthrow of a corrupt and tyrannical government or corporation resides with a well armed and equipped civilian militia which is guaranteed by the Constitution. In other words, those civilians who are willing to take the training and learn how to use firearms properly.

History has a way of repeating itself. The revolution, Civil War, common folks brought their own rifles with them, especially southerners. Same was true of the Revolutionary War except mostly all the weapons were owned by those went and fought.

I do not believe that corporations will ever be able to take what they want and go get an individual's land without the use and aid of government. Corrupt government.

As Thomas Jefferson said regarding the Tree of Liberty having to be refreshed with the lood of Patriots, it may eventually come down to that.

me and Ribs is getting too old to do what we did when we were much younger. I am confident we can protect our own and homesteads but days of running and going soldiering are long past.... So it is up to the individuals to learn to use what they will require in order to protect their homes, land, and family...

And possibly, join ranks with other militia's. I hope it never comes to that in my lifetime or yours....
