no offense taken De.

My daughter does not work "IN THE PIT" as a trial lawyer, although she could .

She is in Healthcare and there are plenty of Lawyers needed that must make sure all contractual language is legal and the T's crossed wherever some new facility is being built or a clinic or whatever.

She is now the Corporate attorney for one of the nation's largest medical suppliers and providers. They stretch from one coast to the other.

So you don't have to be muddied and soiled to be an attorney.

I know what you mean though. I have a distaste for most legal beagles as well but now I realize that there are many arenas in which legal knowledge is required and specialized in. Just an option I was showing you....

He will do well whatever he decides he is interested in and that MAY NOT happen for a few years yet.

Keep us posted on how he progresses. It will be fun to watch Joey grow and mature into a wonderful asset to his country and make his parents proud.

re: "Another profession that is a big crossover between people like this is becoming a doctor, OR, a LAWYER."

Thanks so much, micro. Your daughter sounds amazing. That said, you may be offended by what I'll say next: I'm NOT going to recommend the Law to Joey. I have an almost phobic distaste for the profession and prefer that Joey take up something constructive instead of destructive. Truly, I'd rather see him washing dishes for a living. Washing dishes is honest.

I've told him many times that the second best career he could choose would be medicine. I'd be very proud to have a doctor in the family and I think he'd enjoy it. I don't think it's going to happen, though.

The BEST thing he could do career-wise would be to become a business owner. There 's some chance for that, I think.

Most likely, though, is that he will make his own choices, find his own path and surprise us all. I'm sure I'll be proud of whatever he becomes.
