I'd have preferred a constructive deal, but it wasn't on offer, as the EU made it clear it wishes to damage the UK on exit.

If they want to wall off the continent, so be it. I'd rather be an independent island trading with friendly nations around the world than imprisoned within a contemptuous empire.
