Kathy, Mom gets out of bed, a hospital bed, on her own. Most of the time she uses her walker to get around but will sometimes use her cane. She just does not do enough walking. Right now, her mind is the biggest problem. She does not remember things. And lately she has been sleeping most of the day and night.

Mom still has pain and her artificial knees are poping. She is not moving enough so she is getting weaker.

DG, when my Mom was sick, I used to go to a medical supply store. It is amazing what they have to help the sick, elderly people. You explain what is happening and they tell you what they have or can get.

You're a pretty handy guy. You may be able to adhere a triangular bar from the ceiling so she can lift herself out of bed without assistance. You can also put railings in all of her rooms. They have websites for modifying homes for specific needs.

Of course she is not moving enough. She is in pain! The doctors are pretty much useless when it comes to the care of the elderly. Call a local pain management facility to see what they suggest.

Would physical therapy help her? I am relentless when it comes to getting the best care for others. RELENTLESS.

I think of your Mom often, DG, and pray she lives her twilight years pain-free and happy. She worked hard during her life and does not deserve to suffer.

You are the SON of the year, without a doubt.

Sincerely - 'k
