Print Font: +-One year ago last week, with great media fanfare and an appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, announced a $100 million gift to help improve the public schools of Newark, N.J. Since Zuckerberg announced his “challenge grant” of his own Facebook stock, the foundation created to distribute the money has begun spending it, but some Newark parents are outraged that their children’s schools haven’t seen any benefit and wonder where the money is going. Our NBC News “Education Nation” report takes a look at what Newark has to show for it.
