However, the fly in the ointment here is Nukes.
I don't think Russia will use nukes over Ukraine - for a variety of reasons.
However, if either the U.S. or Russia found itself backed up against a wall with the certainty of getting its butt kicked royally . . . I think either would then throw the BOMB.
Ukraine is a 'Proxy War'. I think sending Ukraine more artillery ammunition is a very good idea. Let them kill LOTS of Russians for U.S.
I also suspect that even if Russia does 'conquer Ukraine' they will find it to be a 'pyrrhic victory' (My new word of the day yesterday). As in what Ukraine cost Russia will be a LOT more than they can afford to have lost. Leaving Russia wide open to any country ballsy enough to try nibbling on it.
