Seems unfair to me. If Rittenhouse had known that he could be convicted of lesser charges, he might have spent more time arguing his innocence with regard to those charges. But I know it's a common practice in the courts, and if his lawyers are competent, they should be taking that possibility into account already. But they aren't competent. That, at least, is the opinion of the attorneys on the Rekieta Law Youtube channel where I've been watching the trial. They think the lawyers on BOTH sides are inept. They've said that if Rittenhouse gets convicted of anything, he should sue his own lawyers for Malpractice. They've been resting on their laurels, hardly objecting to any of the outrageous nonsense coming from the other side. Most think that a request for Mistrial With Prejudice, or at least a motion to dismiss based on the prosecution failing to make its case, should have filed by now.
