Re: “Kmart” How funny. I was just talking with my wife about Kmart a few hours ago. I brought up the fact that the closest store was also one of the very first to permanently close as the chain failed, but that Lebanon NH - perhaps the second closest - now has one of the few Kmarts still in existence. But, thanks to your article, I've checked on the Lebanon Kmart and learned that it's permanently closed too. Ah well. It was a 2021 casualty.

Kmart was fun while it lasted. When I was a kid, I used to enjoy perusing their toy department for all the cool things my parents wouldn't buy me. My only really good memory was of the submarine sandwiches. THOSE we'd buy, mostly at closing time when they'd always go half price. I ate a lot of those things. Loved 'em.
