No, Clo ... the reverse is actually true. Democrats don't give a damn about statehood for D.C. other than the fact that it would give their party two more Senators and more Representatives in the House ... it's nothing but a pure power play. You've highlighted that fact by revealing your desire to reduce the number of Senators from the Dakotas. Is the educational system of New York so pathetic that you don't understand basic American civics, Clo?

1. The Founding Fathers intentionally wrote The Constitution such that the seat of the federal government (not to exceed 10 miles square) would not be a state.

2. Senators are representative of the states, so their number is dictated by the number of states, not by population.

We are a constitutional republic, not a pure democracy. Apparently, New Yorkers are not very well educated.
