ABC 4 reporter Jason Nguyen personally visited the home of a Utah paramedic who donated $10 to the legal defense fund of Kyle Rittenhouse to “get the paramedics [sic] side of things”:

Jason Nguyen ~ A Utah paramedic donated to the defense fund of Kyle Rittenhouse. It was first reported in the @guardian this morning.

Rittenhouse is accused of killing two protesters in Kenosha, WI.

I tried to get the paramedics side of things. See the story tonight at 10p on @abc4utah.

Holy s*it. This could be worse than the time CNN went to the home of a Trump supporter over her Facebook page:

Glenn Greenwald ~ Some journalists go to war zones. Some confront security state agencies and repressive regimes. Some uncover the fraudulent schemes of Wall Street tycoons. And then some bullies abuse the profession to harass and expose private, powerless people.

And he did this over a $10 donation?

e-beth ~ You’re doxxing someone for $10? Be better.

BuffyLegallyBae ~ Leave him alone.

Also, that donation only came to light because the donor data information was hacked:

AG ~ Harassing a private individual that donated to a legal defense fund because you got his name from hacked data is incredibly abusive. Honestly this shows such poor judgement that I don’t see how this person can be trusted with a media platform going forward.

AG ~ These guys tracked down a paramedic that donated $10 to a legal defense fund, contacted his employer to ask if he will be disciplined for the donation, and went to his house. Absolutely despicable and indefensible behavior.

He’s really trying to prove journos are the “enemy of the people” after all:

LB ~ Imagine posting this and not thinking you’re the bad guy?

And we’d like to hear from Twitter on why this information can be tweeted on based on *their* policies:

Ryan C. Radia ~ Seems like a violation of Twitter's hacked materials policy to disclose information about the paramedic that was obtained through a data breach.

But we’re not shocked at the lack of consistency:

LB ~ I’m shocked twitter isn’t applying that rule consistently! Shocked, I tell you!

Not only did he not delete it ...

Lauren Chen ~ This isn't journalism, this is stalking.

Delete this, you psychopath.

... he followed it up with a report that now this guy is being investigated by his employer:

Jason Nguyen ~ @wvcfd conducting an investigation after a paramedic is caught donating $10 to the defense fund of Kyle Rittenhouse using his government email.

In summary, a story with zero news value may now lead to someone losing their job. Well done, everyone:

AG ~ Explain to me the news value of trying to destroy this paramedic's life over a $10 donation to a legal defense fund ...

A donation these guys only know about because of a data breach.

The people worried about Substack content might want 2 start cleaning up with their own house.

Hmmm ... that ABC affiliate in Salt Lake City might just be begging for a highly successful lawsuit to be filed against them on this one.
